Location and Arrival

The fair is being hosted at Georgia Highlands (Floyd Campus). Please make your way to the Lakeview building once you arrive. There will be volunteers in the building direct students to check-in.

Doors will open at 8 am and Judging begins at 9 am. Please arrive on site no later than 8:30 am. There will be a welcome session in the auditorium at 8:45. Once you arrive, you will need to check all of your students in. There will be bus parking available.

What to Bring With You

  • A printed copy of the registration confirmation.
  • The entire project including any necessary power strips. Students will be provided with a single power outlet. We cannot guarantee Internet access for students. Please be sure students are bringing "offline copies" of any work that would require an Internet connection.
  • Sack lunch or cash for food (see below). Do not bring anything that needs to be refrigerated. Snacks will be available throughout the day.
  • Students may also bring their own electronics (ie. Nintendo DS, iPod, etc...) to pass the time during the day. We will not be responsible for lost or stolen devices so be sure they do not lose their personal belongings. There will be movies and several activities for the students to participate in throughout the day.
Lunch

This year Fuddruckers will have a food truck on site that will have the following lunches available for purchase (cash only):
  • ($7) Hot dog - chips or fries - a drink
  • ($8) Hamburger - chips or fries - a drink
  • ($9) Chicken sandwich - chips or fries - a drink
Alternate options include a Hardee's and a Subway directly across the highway from the college.

Judging Procedures

Students will be judged in separate rooms by a team of judges. Only students and judges are allowed in the judging areas. There will be several volunteers available to help students get from the main area to the judging rooms at their appointed judging times. Students should make their way to the lobby area 15 minutes prior to their assigned judging time and await the judges to call their project. Judge time slots are 15 minutes. Students should be prepared to present their project and leave enough time for judges to ask questions about the project.

End of the Day

The awards ceremony will be held immediately following the final judging times. After the winners are announced we will share some information about the State Tech fair for those students who will be advancing. NOTE: If you will not be arriving back at school before the buses leave, please be sure to have your students make other arrangements for getting home.
